华南地区常用钩吻作中兽医草药，对猪、牛、羊有驱虫功效。
钩吻的学名是Gelsemium elegans (Gardn. & Champ.) Benth.
钩吻全株有大毒。
钩吻有消肿止痛、拔毒杀虫的药用功效。
